Special Dogs, special dog stories.

Building this website is alot of work at times, I do it by myself but getting all the great dog pictures and hearing about these special dogs make it all worthwhile.

I also get some wonderful stories from people that have come across special dogs.

Everyone thinks their dog is special and they are, I know I do, you can read about my dogs here.

The following Chihuahua dog pictures were sent in by PAMALA STAMBAUGH, I hope you enjoy reading the remarkable recovery and story behind her little treasure.

Special Dogs - LYRA'S STORY.....

I WAS COMPELLED TO SHARE MY STORY IN THE HOPES THAT OTHERS WHO RECEIVE A BAD APPLE, DON'T GIVE UP! LYRA IS AN AKC CHIHUAHUA. SHE WAS BORN IN JULY 2004, PURCHASED AT A PET STORE IN ON OCT 7TH. PAPERS STATED OVERBITE, THAT'S IT, SHE WAS ONLY AT THE PET STORE LESS THAN 24 HOURS.

I SAW HER(NOT LOOKING FOR A NEW PUPPY), AND FELL TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH HER.
RECENTLY AWAKENING FROM A NAP, I WAS GUARANTEED SHE WASN'T ILL. WELL!!!!!
WE GOT HOME AND HAD A TERRIBLE NIGHT!
TOOK HER TO MY VET ON OCT 8TH DAY AFTER PURCHASE. PAID 750.00 FOR HER.

I FOUND OUT HER RIGHT LUNG WAS FULL AND SHE HAD BRONCHIAL PNEUMONIA. ALSO FOUND OUT, IT'S NOT AN OVERBITE IT'S AND UNDERBITE THAT SHE HAS, ALONG WITH MAJOR CROSSED EYES, WHICH ONLY GIVES HER A 10 FT SITE RANGE, INSTEAD OF THE TYPICAL 30FT RANGE.

LISTLESS AND LIFELESS, MY HEART ACHED FOR HER TO BE WELL. AFTER 2 MONTHS OF MEDS AND GOING BACK AND FORTH FROM THE VET AND AFTER 960.00.

NOW!
I PURCHASED SOMEONE'S ROTTEN APPLE, OR SO THEY THOUGHT! SHE IS MOMMY'S GOLDEN APPLE! THIS LITTLE GIRL HAS BEEN THE LIFE OF THIS HOUSE.
SHE HAS BROUGHT JOY AND LOVE AND HAS TURNED OUT TO BE MY BEST THERAPY IN LIFE!

SHE CALMS ME, LOVES ME, LIKE NO ONE HAS EVER LOVED ME!
SHE IS MY LIGHT, MY NEW JOY IN LIFE!
DON'T EVER THROW A ROTTEN APPLE AWAY!
AS THEY MAY PROVE TO BE THE MOST GOLDEN THING IN LIFE!
BESIDES THAT!, MONEY HAS NO BEARING ON TRUE LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for sending in Lyra's pictures and sharing your story Pamela, I have had similar experience with several dogs I've adopted and they all bring more joy to you than one can imagine, I only wish dog and animals weren't exploited and mistreated by people to begin with.

Lyra's Update...

My baby girl Lyra had eye surgery in both eyes, they had to cut out pockets in her eyes to hold the cherry eyes. Since we were under anyways, my baby girl wont be having any babies.

Tooooo! many genetic screw ups thanks to the thoughtless breeder.
but that's ok! I got her and that's all that counts. I cant imagine how she may not have had a life, if Dave hadn't been so patient and loving to her and me both. Money isn't everything when Love it true to the Heart! When someone tosses away that so called bad apple! Remember they are the Goldest of the bunch!!!! ....Pamala
