What Is Dog Insurance...?

Pet and Dog Insurance have been around for about 15 or 20 years. Owners now have an opportunity to provide their pets with a higher level of health care.

Dog Insurance coverage works like human insurance policies, you pay monthly/annual premiums, pay a deductible and different plans offer different amounts of coverage.

Dog Insurance coverage is available for puppies, adult dogs and seniors. As with most Insurance the younger and healthier the client the better the rates. If your dog is older or has some existing health issues he still qualifies for some good coverage.

Most Plans have a 'deductible', usually $40 to $50 depending on the coverage and age of your pet. 80-90% of the remainder of the bill is paid by your Plan.
Check the Policy for exact amounts.

Getting A Quote

I did some pricing my dogs, one's a Mixed Breed, 5 year old male in good health. The cost would be from $130 to $240 annually, depending on the coverage I choose. All of the above Benefits were available for the $130 annual price quote. That seems a reasonable price to me.

I recommend going to Pet Dog Insurance for more information on the coverage you want and a quote for your own Dog. They use several companies and shop for the best coverage for you.

Choosing Dog Insurance is a personal decision, if you dog is in good health and hasn't had any major problems perhaps you don't see the need for it. Bear in mind if you dog is in an accident or develops a medical condition, Vet costs build up quickly, Dog Insurance gives you peace of mind knowing you can handle the bills.
