has it's own unique characteristics and each separate breed has
their own individual traits.
Here are the 8 different Groups and a description of the group
according to AKC Dog Breeds standards. If you have a picture

The Toy Group AKC breed of dog is made up of a collection of a
smaller Akc breed of dog that are for the most part companion dogs.
Full of personality, they enjoy the company of their owners.

with people hunting birds. These dogs like to be around people and
are active and alert."
Dogs that make up the Sporting Group AKC Breed of Dog include Pointers,
Retrievers, Setter and Spaniels. Love of water and the outdoors
and a zest for exercise are some common characteristics.

their natural scenting ability, stamina and never end will of hunting

The Akc Breed of Dog Working Group consists of dogs that were bred
for a wide range of jobs including Guardians, Herders and in very
early time Pulling Carts. For the most part these dogs were strong,
intelligent, obedient and fiercely loyal to their owners.

Non Sporting dogs are composed of a wide variety of dogs. They
are made up of dogs that don't particularly fit into any other of
the groups. From the American Eskimo Dog to the Tibetan Terrier
and everything in-between.

As the name implies the Herding Dog Group is made up of dogs that
mainly work with Livestock. The newest of the Akc Dog Breeds Group,
it was first created in 1983.

Dogs in the Akc Breed of Dog Miscellaneous Class are still working
their way towards becoming recognized by the American Kennel Club.
There is a standard path all breeds must follow to become recognized.
When the board of directors determine there's enough interest in
the breed it is admitted into the Miscellaneous group.
